DRSKIN shirt

A long-sleeve base layer does two jobs that pull in opposite directions: it has to hold the arm without binding at the elbow, and it has to be thin enough that a jersey goes over it without a fight. The DRSKIN answer is the same knit as the tights with the sleeve cut long and the shoulder seam moved off the top of the shoulder, where a pack strap or a jersey seam would sit on it. It is the shelf with the best ratings we have, and the pack cards are the ones people come back for: three shirts at the price of two singles, in the colours named on the card. Sizes run S to 3XL. Between two letters, the larger one, and check the sleeve length before the chest.

Questions about DRSKIN long-sleeve tops

Whether a base layer goes under or over the jersey, when to size up for the sleeve, and what this knit will not do in January.

Do you wear a DRSKIN long-sleeve base layer under or over your jersey?

Under it, always. A base layer is the first thing on and the last thing off, and it works by touching you: the sleeve takes the sweat so the jersey over it is not the thing soaking through. Worn over a shirt it does nothing except add a layer.

Should you size up in a DRSKIN long-sleeve top?

If your chest measurement lands between two letters, yes, and the sleeve is the reason. A long sleeve cut to the smaller letter runs short at the wrist the moment you reach forward, and stretch does not give the length back. The run goes S to 3XL and the chart on the buying page reads from the chest.

Is a DRSKIN long-sleeve top warm enough for winter on its own?

No, and it is not built to be. This is the summer-weight knit, the same 92 per cent polyester as the tights, made to move sweat rather than hold heat. The winter answer is the fleece-lined top on the thermal shelf, and even that is a first layer with something else over it.
