01Two lengths, two jobs
Compression shorts worn under a kit and loose 10-inch athletic shorts worn over it, both in packs of one, two and three, both S to 3XL, most of the shelf between twelve and thirty dollars.

This shelf holds two different garments that share a word. The compression shorts are the layer that goes under everything else: cut close, mid-thigh, and the pair people buy so a football short stops riding. The 10-inch athletic shorts are the outer layer, and the ten inches is the inseam, which is the only measurement that decides whether a short sits above the knee or on it. Nobody needs both, and the cards say which is which before you click. Pack sizes matter more here than anywhere else on the site, because these are the pieces that go through the wash twice a week: a three-pack costs less per pair than a single, and the colours in it are the ones named on the card rather than three of your favourite.

Prices are the ones from our last update; a DRSKIN habit updates them on a schedule, and the figure at the till is the one that counts.
04Before you order
Which of the two shorts goes under the kit and which goes over it, what the seam placement is for, and where ten inches puts a hem.
The compression short goes under: close, mid-thigh, and there to stop the outer short from climbing your leg. The 10-inch athletic short is the outer one: loose, above the knee on most people, worn over the compression pair or on its own in summer. Nobody needs both unless they want the pairing, and the card names which is which above the price.
That is what the seam placement is for: the seams are turned away from the inner thigh, which is the one place a raised seam finds you and keeps finding you. Whether it solves chafing for you depends on your session and your skin, and a short that is a size too large moves against you rather than with you, which makes it worse rather than better.
The ten inches in the name is the inseam, measured from the crotch seam to the hem, so it is a fixed length rather than a proportion: just above the knee on most adult men, on the knee if you are shorter through the leg. The compression shorts on the same shelf sit mid-thigh, higher than that.
